Yesterday was my last full day in China so I went to the Temple of Heaven with my tutor and her friend. It was the prettiest day here yet. I’ll be on my way home in about 2 hours. I had such a good time here and I’m thankful for all the people I’ve met and places I’ve seen. Zaijian Beijing!

—Great Wall
Walking down from the Great Wall I was looking in the little shops and these two caught my eye. The first picture is for you Dad because I know you’ll see this. I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw these hats because I obviously thought of the last time we were at the Great Wall and how you bought that fur hat. You never even wore it once. I was half tempted to buy one. I have the exact same little statue that’s in the second picture. Matthew and I both got them the last time we went to the Great Wall. So I guess not much has changed in the past 12 years.

Last weekend we went to Shanghai for our independent excursion for three days. I loved it there, it’s definitely different than Beijing but way more humid.

Three weekends ago we went to the Great Wall. It was a hot, sunny day and walking along the wall was definitely the biggest workout I’ve had since arriving in China. The views are beautiful so it was well worth it.
—Happy 4th to everyone back home (and belated Canada Day!) To the fam: happy 10 year anniversary of our move from Hong Kong to Oregon! Can’t believe it’s been a decade. Now I’ve spent half of my life in HK and half of it in the states.
